Bio
Chris Ko serves as Vice President of Impact and Strategy for the United Way of Greater Los Angeles. Previously he lead California's broadest community-based effort to end homelessness, doubled participation in the homeless count, directed the coalition that created and passed historic ballot measures around homelessness, and lead the architecture of the Coordinated Entry System. He has enjoyed seeing different approaches to social change, being an officer at an after school program in West Philadelphia, managing IT at a Liberian Refugee Camp Self-Help Initiative, and serving in the Mayor’s Office. As an economic development policy aide, he helped launch the Bank on LA initiative, which went on to bring 10,000+ Angelenos into the financial mainstream. The Coro Foundation also named him a Public Affairs Leadership fellow through which he worked on special projects for the District Attorney, the largest city workers labor union, a local NPR affiliate, and the LA School District. Chris began his work as an Urban Studies major at the University of Pennsylvania. He was named a Stanton Fellow and was also named one of Next City's 40-under-40 Vanguards, Empowerment Congress's 40-under-40 civic leaders in LA, and one of Stratiscope's Impact Makers to Watch. He happily serves on the board of Brilliant Corners, having also served on the boards of Coro Southern CA and the Supply Education Group.
