Alissa Parrish joined the Institute for Community Alliances (ICA) in 2015 and serves as the Director for the Alaska Statewide HMIS implementation and the Boise City/Ada County Continuum of Care HMIS implementation. In her role, Alissa works with communities to provide technical assistance, focus on the quality of their data in HMIS, use the data to educate the community about homelessness, and make data-informed decisions through comprehensive system mapping and monitoring. Additionally, Alissa currently does HUD TA subcontract work with ICF, focused on HMIS capacity, monitoring, and data quality. Prior to joining ICA, Alissa served as the Operations Manager for an Emergency Shelter in Des Moines, Iowa for over 5 years. Because of her human services experience and interest, Alissa is passionate about ensuring the data within HMIS is used to directly benefit families and individuals experiencing or at-risk of homelessness within the communities she works.
