Tanya Torno has over 11 years of experience in social services both in the non-profit and public sector. She is responsible for overseeing the Housing Authority of the County of Riverside’s Special Programs Team. Though the use of local, state, and federal funding, the Housing Authority is able to carry out a wide-array of housing interventions for households who are at-risk of or experiencing homelessness. Prior to the Housing Authority, Tanya served as the Program Manager for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a non-profit organization who matches foster care children with a volunteer advocate. She previously worked at the Boys & Girls Club and volunteered with the Coachella Valley Sexual Assault Services. Tanya received her BA in Criminal Justice in 2008 from California State San Bernardino and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at California Baptist University (CBU). This experience has provided Tanya with deep appreciation for people and a strong desire to advocate for social justice.
