Alisha began working for the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians for their Family and Children Services Department in May 2017 in an office position where she was able to learn about the various barriers for families seeking reunification and stabilization in the child welfare system. In October 2018, Alisha began working in the Economic Development and Planning Department of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians as the Director, where she was quickly introduced to Affordable Housing Development and issues faced by Tribal Members experiencing homelessness and barriers to housing. Since then it has been a priority of Alisha's to ensure that her department is focused on securing access to: education, healthcare, and housing for all members of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians.
