Omoré Okhomina is an educator, attorney, public speaker and youth advocate. In 2004, Omoré began his career in public education as a schoolteacher serving economically disadvantaged youth and families in Prince Georges County, MD, Alexandria City, VA, and Washington DC. In 2011, he joined the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) where he worked on literacy and juvenile justice initiatives impacting poor and minority children; eventually serving as a CDF Ella Baker Trainer (2012- 2017) and a Juvenile Justice Policy Intern at the CDF national headquarters. Since 2014, Omore has clerked at several federal government agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Health and Human Services, Medicare Operations Division. In 2017, Omore earned his law degree from the prestigious Howard University, the same institution from which he obtained his Masters Degree in Education, some five years prior. A firm believer in service and in grassroots community development, Omoré launched his career as an advocate in 2004, and continues to work on issues affecting vulnerable youth and families. Today, he serves as the Administrator of Adolescent Services at the National Center for Children and Families in Bethesda, Maryland.
