Nichele Johnson Carver has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia State University and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Carver initially began working in the homeless services field in 1997 in a Richmond area shelter program assisting families experiencing homelessness with locating permanent housing and supportive services. She then spent the next nine years helping persons with serious mental illness who were also experiencing homelessness obtain permanent supportive housing. Ms. Carver has been with the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development since 2007 serving as a Program Administrator, Program Manager, and currently as the Associate Director of the Homeless and Special Needs Housing unit.
