Hinderlie serves as chief executive of Hearth, Inc., a Boston agency committed to ending elder homelessness. Hearth develops and operates permanent supportive housing for homeless and at-risk older adults (currently 182 units with 54 units in Hearth at Four Corners to open fall 2020; conducts outreach to currently homeless elders; does research and advocacy for better public policy. Hearth's Outreach Program was named a 2009 Social Innovator by the Social Innovation Forum. Hinderlie also serves as co-chair of the National leadership Initiative to End Elder Homelessness. Previously Hinderlie served as chief executive of several organizations in Boston and Cambridge. He holds an A.B. from Yale College and an M.P.A. from Harvard University.
