Originally from Puerto Rico, I have been working with ACS-Y, serving the homeless population for 5 years now. My background is in Psychology and I have a MS in Counseling Psychology specialized in short interventions. Initially I worked as a case manager for a family shelter. From there I moved on to be the first "navigator" in our county dedicated to doing full-time diversion work. This opened up a whole world, filled with possibilities, where we were able to start exploring what we can do to prevent homelessness in the first place. Since then, I have been completely dedicated to sharing the successes of diversion work, helping our county build infrastructure to carry out this work long-term and sharing what we have learned along the way.
