Bio

As Project Manager for Heartland Alliance's National Center on Employment & Homelessness (NCEH), Carrie supports efforts to create equitable pathways to employment and income for people experiencing homelessness and housing instability through policy change, systems optimization, and movement-building. She firmly believes all people deserve the right to a safe and stable home and the ability to meet their basic needs.

Before joining Heartland Alliance, she worked for over a decade in a variety of direct service roles supporting people experiencing poverty. In these roles, she met smart, resilient people being excluded from economic opportunity by unfair, inequitable policies and systems. Carrie's commitment to ensuring equity and opportunity for all is driven, in large part, by the personal stories and experiences of those she met in these direct service roles.

In addition to her direct service experience, Carrie holds a graduate degree from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration with a focus on poverty and inequality.
