Carrie Poser is the Director of the WI Balance of State CoC, a 501c3 non-profit organization that covers 69 of 72 counties in Wisconsin. Since May of 2015, she has been responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization including the CoC application, Point-in-Time, statewide collaboration efforts and advocacy, and CoC development. Carrie has dedicated her life to working in public service, holding many different positions along the way. She has worked as an intake & assessment specialist and then as the Assistant Director of a non-profit dedicated to serving those at-risk of and experiencing homelessness in a rural community, an HMIS System Administrator, an adolescent residential counselor, a staff attorney at a legal aid office focusing on family and landlord-tenant law, and a teacher. By using her experience, legal and educational background, Carrie has helped shift the narrative to ending (rather than managing) homelessness in Wisconsin.
