Bio

Stacy Borke is the Senior Director of Programs for Transition Projects. Ms. Borke began her work with Transition Projects 14 years ago as a night-shift shelter staff. As Senior Director, she provides vision, oversight, and support for the agency’s programming including housing, shelter, and supportive services. Ms. Borke received her B.A. in Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Oregon, and her Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Portland State University. Ms. Borke co-chairs the City of Portland and Multnomah County's A Home for Everyone coordinating board, which coordinates resources for ending homelessness in the county. Transition Projects provides individuals with the services, resources and tools they need to end their homelessness, secure housing, and maintain that housing. Each year, we assist more than 10,000 people experiencing homelessness. On any given day, we help meet the basic needs of more than 500 people through our Resource Center. On any given night, we provide a safe place to sleep for more than 700 people with nowhere else to turn. In any given year, we help more than 1,000 people find and secure affordable housing - and then support them in retaining that housing. Whenever and wherever we can, we advocate for policies and initiatives that affirm the right of all people to have a place they can call home.
